Saturday the 7th December 2019, an outdoor wedding on the bride’s family farm east of Pretoria, during an obscenely cold and rainy Summer’s day – no problem! No amount of bad weather or mud was going to put a dampener on Jen & Russ’ incredible day.
This was one of our favourite weddings ever – a wonderful ‘farm-chic’ vibe with blush pinks, soft purples and greenery creating a very elegant but relaxed atmosphere – just what the bridal couple was after from the beginning.
Jen walked down the hessian aisle (no one wants to walk on muddy lawn) lined with fresh rose petals and there was barely a dry eye to be seen – what an absolute vision she was. The bridal party carried large organic-style bouquets creating a beautiful boho look and feel, while Russ, the groomsmen and page boy looked dapper with their simple buttonholes. We also made a beautiful flower crown for Jen’s flower girl, who carried a tin bucket of fresh rose petals. The couple said ‘I do’ next to the floral arch bursting with fresh blooms, a beautiful backdrop for their vows.
The tables were adorned with mismatched jars, bottles, vases and floral runners with King Proteas (Jen’s favourite), Anemones, Roses, Amaranthus, Pepper Bush, Lisianthus, Asters and Penny gum. The differing arrangements lent to the casual environment we wanted to tie into whilst creating interest – something the wedding had in bucketloads with brilliant food trucks, harvest tables and a gin bar! A fun and interactive wedding no one will forget!
The glow from the rose gold lanterns, candles and twinkling fairy lights encompassed the nuptials as night drew. Each guest was given a personalised tin mug as a keepsake – what a lovely idea to always remember the day!
The most beautiful of couples, Jen & Russ we wish you lifetime of love and happiness together – thank you for choosing us to be such a special part of your wedding day!
