Caitlin contacted us in the beginning of January to discuss her wedding and what she envisaged for the day. Several meetings and mock-ups later, we got it just right!
Sometimes we see couples where only the bride has an interest (and a say!), but Richard and the family were very involved with the wedding planning and despite very full and chaotic lives (think moving home etc.) they still gave their special day all the attention it deserved – an incredible balancing act!
The couple first had a Traditional Wedding, and then their Christian/Traditional White wedding at Red Ivory on 1st November 2019. What a fabulous couple this was to work with – they truly were the most relaxed couple we have met and worked with in ages. It helped that Caitlin knew what she wanted, and we aligned with her ideas through our own creative designs and processes.
We’ve done many weddings at Red Ivory in Hartbeespoort – a venue with the most exquisite of views, and we were very lucky for wonderful weather on the day as the view stretches for miles! The wedding colours were rose gold, with white, cream and green. We used roses, cluster roses, lisianthus, gerberas, gypsophila, long leaf penny gum, snapdragons, stocks, sprays, rice flowers and added in touches of pink roses and white petals for a soft and romantic look.
We set up large up-style arrangements on beautiful rose gold stands we had specially made to suit our vision – perfect for guests to be able to converse easily at the table, towering over beautiful soft petal finishes on the table. There was a traditional plant given to each guest – which also added in a lovely element to the table. This is such a special keepsake to remember the bridal couple by, as guests watch their plant grow at home and remember the happy occasion. We brought in loads of Eddison bulbs and fairy lights from our favourite supplier, So Where 2 Events, which created the most magical effect.
What a labour of love it was creating an epic circular floral wreath (great for guests to take photographs at), champagne tubs of petals, runners of penny gum and flowers down the aisle, simple but elegant ribbon ties for the menus and incredible floral runners on the main tables dotted with floating candles. The 5 bridesmaids carried soft and elegant tied bunches.
Caitlin – what a beauty you were, the most relaxed bride ever – a dream client. We wish both you and Richard all the happiness in the world.
